FreeBSD/390 boots into single user mode in simulator (Hercules). Boot log is here.
Obviously, a lot of things to do, like shared library support, smp kernel code, channel subsystem layer (WIP), device drivers, etc. Also, I treat S/390 port as a jump pad to z/Architecture (64-bit) port.
